The Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) has clarified its position on the registration of SIM cards which has in the recent past been an issue of concern to Kenyans
Earlier, the agency’s director-general Ezra Chiloba had said that those who fail to register their SIM cards with telecommunication service providers by April 15 risked fines of up to KSh300,000 or serve a jail term of six months or both.
However, a few days into the directive, presumably after protests by a section of Kenyans on the interwebs, the CAK seems to have loosened its stance
