Elsa Majimbo’s Documentary To Premiere At Tribeca Festival In New York

Comedian Elsa Majimbo’s star is still shining bright, and if her April travel schedule is anything to go by, she is definitely catching more flights than feelings.

Okay, I know we wrote that 10 days ago, but, really, comedian Elsa Majimbo’s star is still shining bright and yes, she is catching more flights than feelings.

What’s new? Ms. Majimbo has a new documentary about her life. And it premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, no less.

The eponymous film was unveiled on Wednesday in this year’s festival lineup, which features 109 feature films from 40 countries and 88 world premieres.

Directed and produced by award-winning South African filmmaker Julia Jansch, ‘Elsa’ is a short documentary about the social media star’s meteoric rise to fame during the coronavirus pandemic.

It will take her superfans and general viewers alike through the reality behind being her authentic self.

“The internet’s beloved truth-teller exposes the harsh reality behind being unashamedly herself. Still, she wouldn’t have it any other way,” reads a blurb of the documentary published by US showbiz outlet Deadline Hollywood.

The film was written by Majimbo herself and will be screened on June 9th and June 16th.

“My first film ever! I’m over the moon to have it premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Shot in New York and shown in New York,” tweeted the comedian on Wednesday, attaching a promotional poster of the work.
