A mother and her child perished in a house fire at Gatuikira village in Ndenderu, on Tuesday night.
Robert Kanyiri, the man of the house, as well as his 7-year-old daughter, managed to escape the burning house and were rushed to a local hospital with serious burns.
The seven-year-old girl succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire early Wednesday, pushing the death toll to three.
