Julius Kipkwony from Baringo claimed victory in the men’s 10,000m at the Kip Keino Classic meet on Saturday afternoon at Kasarani Stadium.
Kipkwony clocked 28:28.34 ahead of Wesley Kimutai (28:32.09) and Abraham Longosiwa (28:35.01) who finished second and third respectively.
“I did not expect to win in today’s race since I was anticipating a very tough competition but I thank God I have emerged the winner. It is my hope that I will keep up this fine form ahead of major championships that are coming up,” said Kipkwony.
In the women’s 400m, Miranda Coetzee from South Africa emerged top in 51.50 ahead of Wadeline Jonathas of USA who finished second in 51.71 with Sussanne Walli settling for third in 52.13
