Prof. Tom Ojienda will fly the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Senate ticket in Kisumu after winning the party primaries held on Tuesday.
Senior Counsel Ojienda garnered 39,336 votes, beating his closest challenger, Rose Nyamunga, who got 18,319 votes.
Woman representative aspirant Ruth Odinga meanwhile clinched the ODM ticket after emerging with 23,665 votes, ahead of Rose Omondi who got 13,685 votes.
Similarly, MP aspirants who shall be seeking seats under the Raila Odinga-led party’s tickets in the county are Kisumu central constituency’s Dr. Joshua Oron who got 6842 votes, Nicholas Oricho of Kisumu East (4535), Nyakach’s Aduma Owuor (3893) and James Onyango Koyoo of Muhoroni (4042).
