UDA To Conduct Repeat Nominations In Select Areas On April 19

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has announced that it will conduct repeat party primaries in areas that were not covered on Tuesday, April 19.
UDA’s National Elections Board (NEB) in a statement on Saturday said the party had also made arrangements to solve any disputes arising from the Thursday, April 14 exercise.
Board chair Anthony Mwaura said repeat elections for MP aspirants shall be conducted in
Nakuru Town West & Rongai Constituencies in Nakuru County, Mt Elgon in Bungoma, Turkana East & Turkana West in Turkana, as well as Moiben in Uasin Gishu.
At the same time, Mwaura acknowledged that they shall conduct repeat polls for MCA aspirants in Biashara Ward in Nakuru Town East Constituency, all wards in Bumula, Mt. Elgon, Malava, Lugari, Likuyani, Turkana East and Turkana Central constituencies.
Mahiga and Endarasha Ward in Nyeri Town Constituency shall also see a repeat of the exercise, alongside Kibiricha, Kisima, Ruiri/Rwarera, Ntima East, Nyaki East, Nyaki West, Akirang’ondu, Mwanganthia, Abothoguchi, West, Nkomo, Nkuene, Abogeta East, Abogeta West and Akachiu wards in in Meru county.
“All Aspirants are reminded to maintain peace and ensure that the nominations are conducted in an environment that is conducive to the values and principles enunciated by the UDA Party Constitution,” Mwaura added.
Successful candidates in the William Ruto-led party are expected to be presented with the final nomination certificates from April 23 to April 25 as campaigns intensify ahead of the August 9 General Election.
Thursday’s exercise was held across 36 counties in the country.
